One of the world’s most renowned trumpet sensations, Alison Balsom, has teamed up with pTrumpet, to encourage children to “pick up an instrument and play” – as part of a major new nation-wide music education initiative. The aim of the project is to encourage more youngsters to take up music.

Alison will shortly embark on a UK tour, where she will be giving one lucky member of the audience a signed pTrumpet live on stage. Tickets are still available for the show so to be in for a chance of winning one of these ground breaking instruments - as seen on BBC News, the Daily Telegraph and CBBC Newsround - remember to get your tickets!! The competition will run for all shows except London and will be limited to one pTrumpet per show.

Alison has been visiting schools across the UK with our Director of Education, Chris Fower, to lead an introductory music class for children at the school. pTrumpet have donated a “class-full” of instruments to the school as part of the initiative.

Alison and Chris have already visited Colville Primary School in London, St Martins CE primary school in Birmingham and Moorside Community Primary School in Manchester, with support from The Royal Albert Hall, Sandwell Music and Arts Service (SMAS) and the Salford’s Music and Performing Arts Service (MAPAS).

Children who have participated in the project have been invited by Alison, to attend her concert when she performs at Bridgewater Hall on Thursday 2th October, The Royal Albert Hall on Monday 13 October 2014 and Birmingham Town Hall on Tuesday 14th October as part of her UK tour.

Chris Fower, Director of Education at Warwick Music Group, said it was fantastic that Alison was spearheading such an important initiative and was thrilled with the support shown by The Royal Albert Hall, Sandwell Music and Arts Service (SMAS) and the Salford’s Music and Performing Arts Service (MAPAS).

“Alison is one of the world’s finest trumpet soloists. She is inspirational and is playing a huge role in bringing brass music to a broader audience. The children at the schools were enthused by her infectious approach. I am delighted that Alison is directly engaging with the next generation of brass players through these projects”.

Alison is signed exclusively to Warners and her new album ‘Paris’ is currently at number one in the UK Classical Charts. She shortly begins her first ever solo UK tour, detailed below.
